First impressions:
I really liked the look of this when I first
spotted it a while back and was excited when
it finally arrived. I was surprised by just
how small it was, but I've never been one
to let size put me off and some of the best
toys I've reviewed and liked have been on
the small size. I loved the instructions that
came with this, "look after your dolphin
and remember to feed it regularly."
The
one thing I found a little off-putting were
the straps that came with it. They were simply
pieces of elastic that were attached to the
toy itself and it took me ages to figure out
how they actually went around my body and
fastened. The idea is that the dolphin sits
on your clit, or more correctly its nose nuzzles
into your clit and titillates you as your
walk or move. The remote control which is
designed to clip to your waistband is about
twice the size of the actual toy, so if you
intend to try and wear this for the day make
sure you take a long sweater with you...

Play:
I decided to give this baby a real test run
and after finally figuring out how to wear
and fasten it, which took about 20 minutes,
I put the batteries in place, all 3 of them,
and clipped the remote control to the waist
belt of my jeans. With three speed setting
I began with the lowest and was pleasantly
surprised at first, what I felt was a nice
low powered buzz from my newfound friend.
On this setting it proved fairly quiet and
the buzz proved to be erotic. After a while
though I felt I needed more juice so I turned
up my friend a notch. By doing so I noticed
the noise it produced was reminiscent of a
toy aircraft buzzing around my crotch. I found
if I tucked my leg behind me when I sat down
I could dull the sounds somewhat. The buzz
was pretty strong, but nowhere near strong
or directed enough to bring me anywhere near
orgasm. So I turned it to the last/fastest
speed setting and got the noise equivalent
of two toy aircraft buzzing around my knickers.
This was not pleasant and was really distracting;
although I admit on high the stimulus was
good. I sat down and soon discovered that
this not only dulled the sound, but if I rocked
back and forth or rolled my hips from side
to side I could almost orgasm from the sensations.
I
still found the noise distracting though,
and another draw back I soon discovered was
rather than make me wetter than the ocean,
I was left out in the dry so to speak. The
constant rubbing on my clit became more of
an annoyance than a pleasure and although
it wasn't uncomfortable to wear from the straps
point of view, which was something that had
concerned me at first, because of the dryness
issue, I couldn't wear it for long. I also
found that once I'd encountered the strongest
vibration this could muster, the other speed
settings did nothing for quite a while afterwards.
It actually left me quite numb.
I'm
not one to give up on toys easily and next
time I tried using this I basically dumped
the straps idea and held it in my hand. This
proved to make the dolphin much more pleasurable
and also easier to direct. It certainly does
pack a lot of power into it's little nose
this way and the intense vibrations felt much
better when I was able to actually direct
them where they best suited me, rather than
leaving it to chance. I'm happy to report
that all was not lost with this toy and it
wasn't long before the waves washed over my
friend and me and we were swimming in perfect
harmony on the crest of an orgasmic wave.

Play:
Hubby liked the look of this as well and could
see many potential uses for the dolphin. Like
me though the noise level put him off and
because much of the vibrations are centered
at it's nose, it soon became apparent that
the vibrations weren't going to be strong
enough to do much for him.
He
did enjoy playing with the remote control
and attempting to take me up and down but
it wasn't long before the novelty wore off
for both of us and we moved onto more pleasurable
experiments. Although not a complete disaster
we did both decide that this was one toy that
was better suited for solo play.
What's
it all add up to:
I was in all honesty disappointed with my
little blue friend. He didn't live up to my
expectations, at least if used the way he
was supposed to be. That said, with a bit
of adaptation and thought I did find that
when used as described above it was fun and
is the way I personally use it now. Although
he does come out to play occasionally, I probably
don't feed him as regularly as the instructions
requested. Please don't report me to animal
cruelty as I do enjoy him on occasions. He's
just not my first choice and not quite as
cuddly as some of my other toys in the collection.
